There is always a market

No matter how small, there is always a market and now with online communications providing every user with a global reach, the market just has greater access to your services.

In a global market, there is always someone looking for your answer.

I did a random search on Facebook and came across a few groups around phillumeny. In case you don’t know what this is (I certainly didn’t), it’s the hobby of collecting match related stuff, like matchboxes.

There were a grand total of just over 270 people on these groups, but on a wider Google search I could see a whole selection of websites around the topic and I would imagine that there’s a market for these people. What you would sell to them I don’t know, however it exists and it’s only a matter of creativity to find out what needs these people might have.

Sometimes you don’t even know where that market might exist; however something you do just resonates with a certain group and all of a sudden you are serving a solution for which some people are prepared to pay for.

I have a site that is targeting the USA as a geographical market, however for some reason, as well as US visitors, we also have a strange skew of Romanian visitors and this is something we didn’t plan for. For whatever reasons, the Romanians find the site appealing; perhaps it’s the colour scheme, perhaps it’s the layout or logo. It’s too hard to tell, the web is so organic that sometimes you’ve just got to let it be.
